FRIENDS FOREVER
Same hands, same heart, same "from scratch" promise
The leaves drifted to the floor, mingling with the thousands of others that had already come to their resting place for the winter ahead. Inside Lieutenant Job Lane Elementary School, we had just hatched a plan--a plan that would end up bringing joy to countless households and people of all different ages. Craft N' Crumbs was born on October 1st, 2024, all of our dreams inscribed forever on Google Docs. A shout-out to Ms. Raho for mentoring us on how to start our business!
Throughout fifth grade, every day after lunch, at W.I.N. block, we would sit at our desks and plan. What products would we make? How would we package them? Where would we advertise? We even went to Town Hall to check on the rules for kids' businesses. Finally, a year and a half from when we started, we opened the first Craft N' Crumbs stand.
Everyone has many gifts to give to the world around them. We want to share ours with you. We have spent a lot of time developing our crafts, and they're fun. But, even better is the fact that we can serve others with our pursuits. Craft N' Crumbs is where homemade meets the heart--but especially ours.
Hi! I’m Prisha Gorkhali, a sixth-grader at John Glenn Middle School and the Head of Baking Operations for our business. At 12 years old, I’ve learned to balance the rigors of middle school with a relentless passion for the culinary arts—a dedication that often has me busting out fresh batches of dough as early as 5:00 AM!
As a first-generation Nepali-American, my kitchen serves as a bridge between my heritage and my home. Nepal, the land of the majestic Mt. Everest, inspires me to reach for new heights in every recipe I develop. My specialty lies in cultural fusion; for example, I recently developed a Rasmalai Cake that blends the delicate, creamy flavors of South Asia with the classic structure of a western sponge. Whether I’m perfecting a traditional, ooey-gooey American chocolate chip cookie or hand-shaping artisanal Filipino Pandesal, I treat every bake as a scientific experiment in flavor.
Baking is more than just a business to me—it is a creative outlet that keeps me grounded and focused. I have created this website, the logo, business cards, and much more to fuel this business and our passions! Thanks to the incredible support of my family, friends, and early customers, I am proud to share that we have already generated over $300 in sales. This milestone has only fueled my drive to innovate further.
I am so grateful for the opportunity to share our hand-crafted sweets and our team's premium knitted goods with you. Thank you for supporting young makers and being part of my journey as an entrepreneur!
Hi, my name is Elanor. Nice to see you here! I'm the Head Crocheter of the Crocheting Department. It's as high a position as you can go, as long as you have made up the hierarchy.
It was a dark, stormy night. No seriously, it was. Since I was a toddler, I've loved crafting. But just playing around with the fiber arts was as far as I got. On a Tuesday night in September of fifth grade, I decided I was going to learn how to knit. And I did. It was what I did on car rides, at grocery stores, even while hiking! It's more than a hobby: it's part of my childhood.
A year and a half later, I'm still doing it. I've even discovered crochet, weaving, and other arts to add to my toolbox and give more to my community. I'm passionate about providing real, handmade decorations and plushies that will light up your day, and so grateful for the amazing opportunity everyone has given us to spread happiness by supporting our business! You have given us an amazing experience day in and day out, and I'd like to thank you for being part of our journey!
